Merlin

Merlin

Merlin was built in 1993 by Jim Haylock. It has the traditional 0-4-2T wheel arrangement, 2½″ clinders, 9¾″ diameter driving wheels, a marine boiler, Heywood valve gear and sports a steam operated water feed pump.

The main differenec from a standard Tinkerbell is that it has lengthened frames (+3″) and a rear coal bunker arrangement. Originally named Merlin, the loco was re-branded whilst in private ownership to Steamy Dream, before being sold on again to operate at the short-lived Bolebrooke Castle Miniature Railway.

Since the closure of that line, it has moved back into private ownership and has been renamed as Merlin once again.
